Carson Broom is a filmmaker from a small town in West Virginia, where his passion for storytelling first took shape in the most unlikely of places: math class, band practice, even driver’s education. A statistics project became a disaster thriller filmed on the school roof. A retirement tribute turned into a slasher film. And a PSA he directed won his school $5,000 after airing on local television. Later, he brought that same spirit to his parents’ business, where he shot offbeat commercials that helped redefine their brand.

As he shifted his focus toward more narrative filmmaking, Carson directed two documentaries that aired on West Virginia PBS and completed Sarah’s Mess, a short film officially selected for the MTN Craft Film Festival. His recent work blends the strange with the sincere, embracing heartwarming absurdity in projects like Strawberry Bon Bon.
